DetailsOrigin and description: Puukko Finnish knife. A "puukko" is a small, traditional Finnish knife with a single-edged, curved, flat-backed blade, made to be worn on a belt. Etymologically, "puukko" means “knife with wooden handle”. Historical discoveries prove the existence of this type of knife since the Stone Age. It can be considered a simple tool or a precious object. It could be used for hunting, fishing, sculpture or as jewelry.
This exemplar is from Tapio Wirkkala, a major designer and sculptor in post-WW II
