DetailsDescription and origin: Orthodox icon depicting three saints and an archangel, whose names are inscribed in Slavonic/Russian above the figures. The inscription is somewhat faded, but one can fairly clearly identify, starting from the left: (i) Saint Charalampios, an elderly bishop holding a book of the Gospels and giving a blessing. He is a highly venerated martyr saint in the Orthodox world; (ii) Saint Theodosius, a bishop or abbot in liturgical vestments; (iii) the Archangel Michael, easily identifiable by his wings and military armor; (iv) Saint Panteleimon, a young healing saint and martyr, often depicted beardless with a medicine box or medical kit. At the top, within the red semicircle, there is also a small representation of Christ giving a blessing. The style and script likely suggest a 19th-century Russian or Balkan icon.
